About the instructor
James is born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grew up with a passion for athletics and weight training. Despite a dedicated work ethic and healthy lifestyle growing up, It was not until the ripe age of 25 that James was able to officially begin his "scrawny to brawny".
Empowered with knowledge garnered in graduating from the U of M in 2007 with Human Nutritional Science degree, James was able this knowledge with information taken from the reading of many strength training and conditioning books to finally gain some weight. Eating and training with a new philosophy James was able grow from a Scrawny 145 lbs. to a lean and conditioned 170 during the year of 2007 before dieting down to compete at the 165 lb. weight class in the 2008 Manitoba Amateur Body Building Novice Competition, where he placed 3rd.
Officially addicted James dedicated the next year to addressing lagging parts and further enhancing his strengths, which ultimately lead him to 2 titles in the 2009 MABBA Provincial Championships. James built on a strong 2009 with a 2nd place finish at the International Drug Free Athletics Calgary Classic in May 2010, followed by another title at the 2010 MABBA Provincial Championships.
James is currently studying hard to pass the N.S.C.A.'s certification for Strength and Conditioning Specialist and will challenge the exam in Spring 2011.
